Aerials over Cape Charles, VA

Over the years, I have driven up and down the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia to visit family in Newport News and Virginia Beach, VA. I always saw the sign for Cape Charles as I was getting close to crossing the 23 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel but never thought to stop and visit. Earlier this week on our way back from spending time with family over the Easter weekend, I decided to pay Cape Charles a visit. My first reaction as we were driving into the town of a little over 1,000 or so residents, I was really impressed. The beach houses look really nice and the town itself looks to be in good shape with an area of what appears to be new construction of some nice homes in what appears to be a gated community. I’ll definitely have to pay Cape Charles another visit the next time I head down the Eastern Shore! I decided to park along the beach and capture some drone aerials of the town of Cape Charles. By the way, on the day I flew, it was a nice 75 degrees where back home they were having a snow storm!!!! Enjoy!

Nor’Easter #2 was more like a blizzard!

Friday March 2, 2018, a Nor’Easter came through the area and wreaked havoc with heavy rain and high winds which in turn blew over trees, and power lines. Late in the day the rain turned to snow. The snow quickly melted the next day. Not even a week later, and we got hit with yet another Nor’Easter and this time it felt like a blizzard blew through Wilmington and surrounding areas. Some places saw accumulations up to 16 inches!!! I decided to go out during the height of the storm to capture some images at River Road Park in Wilmington, DE. The park bench photo was shot in Ardmore, PA along Lancaster Ave.

2018 – Off to a frigid start!

Happy New Year Everyone! 2018 is off to a frigid start to say the least. A few snow and ice storms and temperatures in the single digits with wind chills below zero made for some super cold days! That said, bodies of water everywhere began to freeze over which for me, it made for some awesome photographs and Drone Aerial coverage. Just as the temperature rose to close to 50 degrees this week, I finally was able to fly and capture some images and footage from the drone. I was prepared with my battery operated heated gloves in case it was to cold while operating the controls. These are probably some of the coolest images I have captured from the drone in a while. At one point I landed the drone right on the ice covered Schuylkill River to capture an image of Boat House Row in Philadelphia, PA.

I also just completed my first Aerial Cinematography video for 2018 titled “Snow & Ice”. I hope you enjoy the photos and video!

Fall Foliage in full bloom

Its that time of the year to get out and explore new areas and capture some beautiful fall foliage. We took to the sky with the use of our drone and flew over Lake Luxembourg at Core Creek Park in Bucks County, PA to capture the colors of Autumn starting to bloom.
